The COVID-19 pandemic has made an extensive impact across the globe. Schools and museums are temporarily closed, businesses are slowing to a crawl, sports and performing arts have been cancelled, and social distancing is being promoted in an effort to slow the spread of the virus. As a small business owner providing therapy services in client homes and schools, the impact caused by this health crisis is potentially catastrophic.
With countless schools transitioning to virtual learning, this will have a major impact on our kiddos. For some, the sudden and immediate change to learning outside of classroom walls may lead to new or more concerning educational and/or behavioral problems. It is important to consider continuing therapy services to reduce the risk of regression. It will allow students to adjust to these changes, while continuing to develop new functional skills.
At this time, SPROUT is in the process of establishing teletherapy services to accommodate these challenging times. The National Institute of Health (NIH) states “growing evidence on the efficacy and effectiveness of [telehealth] shows that [telehealth] leads to similar or better clinical outcomes when compared with conventional interventions.” SPROUT will use a HIPAA-compliant and secure telemedicine platform to provide the same excellent therapy services through a virtual setting.
Please contact us through our Contact page for more information on teletherapy services.
